Core & Plus basics
This page discusses common CIMS terminology and the architecture of the CIMS program.
When you first open CIMS Core or CIMS Plus, you will be presented with a left-hand panel with three tabs and a right-hand panel with many more tabs and information pertaining to your grave spaces. CIMS Core was previously known as CIMS Light, and CIMS Plus previously known as CIMS Gold.
The navigation bar is the navy blue top bar that spans the width of the screen. It contains utilities to personalize your cemetery, see spaces you recently visited, add or rename your spaces/lots/blocks/sections, view a calendar, get help from the CIMS team, and more.
Left-hand panel
This panel is generally fixed on your screen and has 3 tabs pertaining to general, cemetery-wide functions. In this flyout, you will be able to see a list of all of your spaces, run searches, and generate reports.
On smaller screens, the left-hand panel will be collapsible. To show or hide this collapsible panel, simply click on the grey bar on the right side of the panel.
Right-hand panel
Likewise, the right-hand is fixed on your screen. It contains details about spaces, markers, burials and more. This panel is also used to create or edit work orders.
Map tab (CIMS Plus only)
Our CIMS Plus clients will have an aerial view of their map available in the Map tab. From here, you can see pins representing your cemetery spaces and add, move or remove them as necessary.
Map controls (CIMS Plus only)
A group of buttons to help you zoom, re-center your map, measure distances and more are available in the map controls area. See map basics for more information.
Map legend
The legend will show the meaning of your pin colors. In both CIMS Core and CIMS Plus clients, the colors will correspond to blocks of colors that show next to individual spaces in the List tab, indicating at a glance which are sold, available, etc. Read about how to change the colors on the spaces list page.
