Professional basics
This page discusses common CIMS terminology and the architecture of the CIMS program.
When you first open CIMS Professional (formerly known as CIMS Platinum), you will be presented with a map of your cemetery. Additional information is available using the left-hand flyout, right-hand flyout, navigation bar dropdowns, and more.

The navigation bar is the navy blue top bar that spans the width of the screen. It contains utilities to personalize your cemetery, see spaces you recently visited, add map features, rename your spaces/lots/blocks/sections, view a calendar, personalize your map settings, get help from the CIMS team, and more.
Left-hand flyout
When you first open CIMS, the left-hand flyout will be collapsed. It shows as a grey bar spanning the height of your screen on the left side. Clicking on this grey bar expands the flyout. In this flyout, you will be able to see a list of all of your spaces, run searches, and generate reports.
Right-hand flyout
Likewise, the right-hand flyout will also be collapsed. It shows as a grey bar spanning the height of your screen on the right side. Clicking on this grey bar expands the flyout. In this flyout, details about spaces, markers, burials and more appear. This flyout is also used to add map features, create or edit work orders, and much more.
Map controls
A group of buttons to help you zoom, re-center your map, measure distances and more are available in the map controls area. See map basics for more information.
Mini map
The mini map is a non-interactive miniature map of your cemetery, showing what part of the cemetery your screen is currently zoomed in on. It can be collapsed by clicking on the orange arrow in its bottom-left corner.
Map legend
The legend will show the meaning of your map colors. Click on the legend to expand or collapse it. See map appearance for information on how to control your map settings.
