Each space has its own unique "Space ID". This id consists of a concatenation of the Section, Block, Lot, and Space name combined with an '_' (underscore). For example for space A shown in the image on the left the Space ID woudl be "1_A_2_A". The search results grid is a table that shows a row for every match made by your filtered search. If you leave a filter field blank then the search will match on any value including "NULL" (empty) values. For example in the image to the left Spaces were searched for ALL the spaces in ALL the lots of Block "A" in Section "1" that have a status of "Sold With Burial". From the search results we can see are 421 records that match the search filters. If there are more than 500 records those additional records will be shown on another page of results; there will be buttons to the other pages shown at the bottom of the results window.
 
From here you can scroll up and down to look at the results (and sometimes left to right if there are more columns). You can click on a row and the result window will close and your map will zoom/pan to the row's corresponding space and the [[Space information|Right Fly Out]] will open with that space's information.
 
There are 2 buttons at the top of the results window:
*Print
*:This will print the complete (meaning all pages if more than one) using your browser's print dialog box. One of the reason we recommend the Chrome web browsers is it has a very nice print preview and the ability to adjust margins, landscape vs. portrait and other settings prior to printing.
*Download as CSV
*:a CSV is a Comma separated listing. This can be used to open in Excel, or be imported into another database.

Map basics

The map of your cemetery uses the same mapping technology as Google maps. As you zoom in, greater levels of detail will appear. As spaces and individual burials become visible, they will become interactive; clicking on them opens the right-hand flyout to show more information.

Other map controls

Clicking the home button will re-center your map on your cemetery. The map will show the same location and zoom as when you first logged into CIMS.

Use the compass button to display your position on the map relative to your cemetery. You need to be within 5 miles of your cemetery to use this function.

Click on the compass icon and grant permission for CIMS to use your geolocation information. A blue dot will then appear on your map showing where you are located.

The ruler tool will allow you to measure the distance between 2 points on your map. Click the button, then click on your map in 2 different locations; you will see measurements of distance display. Click the button again to turn off your measurements.

To see the latitude and longitude of specific point in your cemetery, click the "Show Coords" checkbox in the lower left corner of CIMS. You will then see coordinates appear just to the right; move the mouse around your cemetery and you will see the latitude and longitude update with your mouse movements. Zoom in to get a more accurate measurement.

Saving map coordinates

This "Saved coordinates" popup has several sets of coordinates saved

Pressing CTRL+ALT+c will save the current set of latitude and longitude to a popup window to make copy and pasting much easier. Each time you press Ctrl+Alt+c, the new set of latitude and longitude are added to the "Saved Coords" list.

In the CemTips settings popup, you can choose what information to display when hovering over an interactive element

Overly-busy maps can be counterproductive. To combat this we have implemented "CemTips", which display a quick summary of information about a map item when you hover over it with your mouse.

To turn on CemTips, click the check box next to "CemTips" in the lower-right corner of CIMS. To adjust what information is shown about a map item, click on "CemTip Settings", a button just to the right of the CemTips checkbox in the lower-right corner. If you do not see the settings button, make sure you have CemTips turned on. In the settings popup, choose the map items you want CemTips to display for and what type of information should be shown.

For the most comprehensive overview, choose "Ownership info", "Burial info", and "Marker info". Remember to save your changes!
